Well, I hope so anyway. Ive been slacking again. I apologize. Again.
It turns out, I had nothing to say. Nothing good anyway. Then it turned out even saying nothing good was at least saying something. So... I do have one little itty bitty thing to say. Wanna hear it?
As most of you know I work at a nursing home. As you can probably imagine, sometimes a resident dies. Its a very sad thing when that happens. Today however, I found a little humor in the situation. Not in the death exactly, there is nothing funny about that of course... I looked a little bit deeper. Let me tell you about it. But, before I do...please dont think I am heartless and cruel for giggleing a bit. Im really not a meany. I promise.
This morning at 6:30 A.M a wonderful woman passed away. It was expected and all of her family was by her side. The woman previously resided in the cities, but came to our nursing facility to be near her family. She had her funeral doings all in order. The funeral home was notified and we were told they were on their way. From the cities.
Now, I am all for keeping my business local. Really I am, but a funeral home 4 hours away!?! They arrived at around 11:00 or so and came straight in and did a wonderful job, that took about another hour, then they left. To start another 4 hour drive. That means to mean 8 hours in a car. I can not manage a 4 hour drive with out stopping at least twice. I have never once seen a hearse at a rest stop, gas station or the like. Have you? Does that mean he had to drive straight through? It certainly wouldnt have been professional for him to come to the nursing home and ask right away to use the facilities. Nor could he tell the family "Hold on, Ill be back in a bit" So what. did. he. do?
On top of all that, he probably missed his breakfast and his lunch. Would you stop at a fast food restaurant or any restaurant for that matter if there was a hearse out in the parking lot? That has got to be the worst publicity ever! So again I ask... What. DID. He. Do???
Im sorry if I have offended anybody.. but these are the thoughts I have been having most of the day. See, nothing good to say...
