Wonder woman strikes again!

The word circulating amoungst Evies family yesterday was that she wouldn't survive the night.
Not only did she survive it...she did it with a smile on her face and eating some ice cream... the first food she has been able to eat more than a couple of spoonfulls of in the last week! She was even giving me orders and cracking jokes at 4 A.M!!! All I can say is W.O.W!!! I was very happy I made the decision to stay the night with her...

An update of Evie

Hi all, Im still here. Are you? Ive been working and studying. Alot. In the few minutes of spare time I find, I am visiting with Evie... She has taken a turn for the worse. One morning she woke up and went about her business as usual and suddenly lost her legs. The tumor has reached her spine and she no longer has any feeling below the waste. She is in an enormous amount of pain. We could not provide 24/7 care for her at home for a longer length of time, so her two sons had made the decision to bring her to a nursing home. I begged and pleaded that if they were going to do that, to please send her to the one I work in. They did. So on the up side, I can spend my breaks at work with her. I am able to check in many times during the day. I am grateful for that. Mark and I went to visit Evie this morning, she seems to be more lucid in the mornings. As the day goes on, the morphine builds up in her system and she is able to tolerate the pain a little better. Please send your best wishes and prayers to Evie. She is such a wonderful woman and it is killing all of us who love her to know how much she is suffering.

10...9...8

As promised...Mr. T's quest to reach outer space...
...7...6...

The "Jet Pack" Tylen had been envisioning for the better part of a week. He came up with the idea on his own and worked out all the particulars in his mind. He used heavy duty packing tape to hold the two cannisters together...because two are better than one!

...5..4...

His Faithful assistants... Dad and Dan helping to prepare for blast off! (again note the use of the heavy duty super strong tape....the belt he planned on using wasnt holding as well as he would have liked)

The jet pack fully assembled and attached.

...2...1! Blast off!!!

Family creativity

As promised... Here is the nearly exact replica of my very first car. My dad made this model from a plain old block of wood!

It weighs nearly the same as the real deal did. My dad and I worked on two real volkswagon beetles until just one working car remained. Then after my mother refusing to allow a car like that to be painted bannana yellow my dad and I came up with this custom paint job.

It really was a sweet car! All the kids in my high school were jealous of me. And after a year in college I finally learned how to drive the straight stick. When I went home to reclaim my poor unused car, SHE sold it! It now belonged to some guy who used it as a dune buggy! All that hard work my dad put into it for NOTHING! Apparently I still have some issues with the old car, so my dad made me this new model... And no one will sell it from underneath me! Its too cute!

My Tylen is going to be an inventor one day, for now, Tylen James is taking up his grandfathers hobby... This is what the boy choose to make during his craft section on his first day of VBS.

Its just like grandpas! Now if you'll excuse me, I need to find Tylens bike helmet. The boy is planning a 3:00 launching into outer space. He will be strapping on a homemade jet pack and blasting off tomarrow afternoon. He has promised to wait for me to get home so that I can document his flight...

Playing Catch up.

I just wanted to let you know, that while I have not been blogging recently, I had been planning too. I have taken some photos over the summer for the cute and funny posts I was thinking of. Heres the photo proof...

Heres Mr. T with his mohawk in a state of disrepair holding our two newest additions to our family. My girlfriend had a calico(?) cat that I loved. It was gray tan and white. She told me if she ever had a kitten that looked like the mother, I could have it. So she called me and told me she had a calico kitten for me. I told her I would pick it up after work. I named the kitten Gertrude before I ever laid eyes on her. When I arrived to pick up the kitten, my friend handed over the orange black and white one. I of course loved her but was dissappointed it wasnt gray, tan and white. I also picked up a cute little orange stripped male kitten for my sister and just as I was getting ready to leave with the two kittens this little gray tan and white on came right up to me. Of course you know the end of the story...I went for one and came home with THREE!

Broccoli went to live happily ever after in Wisconsin the the girls stayed with us. So please meet Gert (orange black and white) and Trudy (the gray tan and white).

One of Marks buddies brought us a cabbage his mother grew in her garden! This monster was BIG! I absolutely hate having my photo taken, but this one also shows my new hair cut. I had tried to straighten it this day, but no luck. My hair is extremely curly. But please take notice of the missing pony tail! Halleluiah!

And this photo... do you see what I see? I took this photo of our trees from the gravel road on July 9th. Yes july not september. Global warming had not warmed up our neck of the woods this year.
My add photos button is not working at the moment. I was planning on showing the car my dad made for me. Maybe in a new post... I WILL be back.
